Sally and “Dreamer” (E.C. Dream Boogie) in 2013 Chief Joseph Days Parade!

The theme of the parade was “SAVE THE OLD COWBOYS!”  Kate wheeler and I decided saloons were klilling them off faster than anything, so Kate decided to become Carrie Nation and lead the Saloon busting women’s league. She was carrying the sign ‘down with demon rum’ and shouting anti booze messages all down the parade. When the parade would stop, she would take the rubber hammer and chop on an old ceramic whisky jug. The group in front of us would come to steal the jug, and she would fight them off with her rubber hatchet.  Boogie Dreamer and I would be laughing so hard, we could hardly save her in time!  We won most humerous first prize that year!  I still laugh thinking about it. We even had a young cowboy come up to us later, and tell us about remembering his mother belonging to the womens movement to keep his dad out of the saloons.  Of all our parade fun, this one I will remember forever.

Word’s cannot express our feelings of the loss of our grandson of Toby ii’s Patchy. We raised him from a foal of True Velvet. He was beautiful, inside and out. From birth his babies were all beautiful, athletic and intelligent. To be blessed twice by such wonderful stallions and the babies they produced, gave our family a wonderful life. Of course, we saved a few fillies. These pictures of “E.C. Going Places” and our grand daughter, Jessica, are worth a thousand words. ~ Sally Seymour

Toby II’s Patchy was her sire and Frosty Tolo was the dam of Boogie Woogie which made her a full sister to Dartagnon. Darcy & Boogie Woogie competed in 4-H and open shows – English jumping, Western games and racing. They always came home in the ribbons! This was at a time when most people didn’t know what an appaloosa was. Darcy and Boogie Woogie showed them!
